I’m thrilled to introduce my self-titled debut EP, Adieu Anaïs—a four-track exploration of identity, liberation, and the journey back to the person I was always meant to be. Moving between electronic pop, dream pop, experimental soundscapes, and the grandeur of classical romanticism, the EP unfolds like a lucid dream, guiding listeners from the depths of my emotional darkness toward the exhilarating freedom of self-reclamation.

Inspired by a vivid dream I experienced over a decade ago while navigating a relationship that left me feeling disconnected from myself, Adieu Anaïs is both an intimate confession and an act of defiance. In the dream, I found myself wandering through a dark forest with chains around my ankles, forced to continue toward a place associated with my unhappiness. In the distance, I discovered a cave glowing with light, filled with vibrant colors, an orchestra, and people dancing in celebration. There, I encountered my four-year-old self, joyfully immersed in the music. As I prepared to leave the cave and return to the darkness, the orchestra conductor called out, “Adieu Anaïs!” before I disappeared into the forest.

That dream became my turning point. Upon waking, I understood how far I had drifted from my aspirations and the things that made me feel most alive. I ended the relationship shortly afterward, resolving never to compromise my identity again. Years later, that subconscious vision has become the foundation of my artistic identity, with each track capturing a different stage of my journey from disconnection to rediscovery.

Across four tracks, I move through a world of emotional contrasts, pairing shadowy electronic textures with moments of dazzling sonic release:

  • “Darker Places” — The opening track envelops you in ambient electronics, evoking the disorienting weight of feeling trapped in a harmful relationship.
  • “My Own Cave” — Offers a glimmer of hope, drawing on hyper-pop and experimental soundscapes to illuminate my repressed inner self and the possibility of finding refuge within it.
  • “Play Me Chausson” — At the heart of the EP, this track brings my classical background into sharp focus. Inspired by the music of French Romantic-era composer Ernest Chausson, whose work profoundly impacted me while I was studying classical opera at university, the track combines the emotional sweep of orchestral music with delirium-inducing electronic elements. The result is a vivid, almost otherworldly celebration of the inner world that refuses to be extinguished.
  • “Lose Myself” — The closing track shifts into drum and bass, transforming the EP’s introspective tension into a propulsive awakening. Here, my inner self breaks free from obscurity, moving forward without looking back.

The title Adieu Anaïs carries a double meaning for me: it is both a farewell and a declaration of becoming—a moment of departure from the person I had been forced to become and a return to the self I had almost forgotten. Drawing on the emotional intensity and adventurous production associated with artists such as Oklou, FKA twigs, and Caroline Polachek—with Rosalía among my personal favorites—I set out to create a sound that is ethereal, dark, romantic, cinematic, and lucid. My music brings together my classical foundation and a deep affinity for electronic experimentation, with vocals that stretch across the boundaries of my training.

The creation of Adieu Anaïs also represents a personal victory for me beyond the music itself. When I began writing the project, I was embroiled in a legal dispute with a former employer over unpaid performance fees for a show in front of 10,000 people at a major venue. After a three-year legal battle stemming from my dismissal from corporate employment, I secured a settlement that helped fund this EP. The project therefore embodies not only my return to music, but also my determination to advocate for myself in an industry and a world where creative talent can be exploited.

“This release is the child of my imagination, subconscious messaging, and unrelenting determination. It is a deeply intimate project about reconnecting with my innermost being, but it is also the fruit of my own pursuit of justice in a world that can be exploitative of talent. I had to fight to reclaim both my voice and what I was owed. This EP is proof that I can do both.”
